Exam completed: Hellersen sports clinic well positioned to train

Two dedicated employees complete further training in practical guidance

Actively counteracting the shortage of skilled workers. The best way to do this is to train staff in-house. The Hellersen Sports Clinic already made a start last year with a cooperation as a partner for practical assignments with the Liebeskind Care Academy in Werdohl. In the future, however, the clinic would also like to train its own nursing specialists. It is well positioned in this area thanks to the further training of employees at the nursing school to become practice supervisors.

Two dedicated health care and nursing staff members of the clinic completed the 300-hour advanced training course in recent months and are now officially allowed to train nursing students. On Wednesday, they received their certificates from Sylvio Wienbeck, director of the nursing school, at a ceremony. "I am very proud of them," said Anja Häfner, head of nursing at the Hellersen Sports Clinic. She welcomed the graduates with a bouquet of flowers following the certificate presentation and congratulated them on behalf of the entire clinic.

"Through the addition to our previous practice instructors, we are now even better positioned and can now take the next step to start as practice instructors - that is, bearers of practical training. The further training of our employees is therefore also an investment in the future of the clinic," says Leonie Schaulandt, personnel manager of the Hellersen Sports Clinic.

Despite the plans to become a provider of practical training itself, the orthopedic specialty clinic will continue to be a cooperation partner for practical assignments. This means that both the clinic's own trainees and nursing trainees whose practical training provider is another institution will in future complete practical assignments at the Hellersen Sports Clinic as part of their three-year apprenticeship.

Prerequisites for further training as a practice supervisor are a degree as a state-approved nurse and at least one year of professional experience. The practice supervisors learned in the further training among other things didactic bases and the training happening to judge and evaluate. A total of nine nurses received a certificate from the Liebeskind nursing school on Wednesday. Sylvio Wienbeck wished the graduates finally with joy into the pupil training to go and motivated pupils.
